William O'Brien State Park

William O'Brien State Park was named after a lumber tycoon with the same name.  He owned sawmills and lumber yards and cleared a good part of this area of most of its' white pine.  Much of the land in the park was donated by his daughter, in memory of her father.  Although our stay was short on this visit, the park has lots of great trails and for those of you that enjoy watching birds, this park offers a great variety!  We did got a little snowshoeing in before the the sun went down, but I wish I would have had another hour or two!  Happy trails!
